In the past, most bodies corporate have focused on addressing health and safety issues purely in respect to "work place" activities, ensuring that any areas construed as workplaces were safe for itinerant tradespeople and contractors. This was in response to the requirements of various legislation including the Work Place Health & Safety Act.
With the ever changing face of public liability, many bodies corporate are now realising the need to act responsibly and discharge their duty of care in all respects. Responsible bodies corporate are now looking at the broader picture and making their communities safe places for all users including regular contractors, residents and their visitors.
Our audits incorporate a thorough site survey to identify any observed hazards and to assess their associated risks. This will always be carried out in conjunction with the relevant management and stakeholders so that we can fully understand the workings of the property and its users.
The findings are then collated into a simple to understand report which identifies any observed hazards and makes recommendations on risk control strategies to eliminate the hazards where possible. Where hazards cannot be completely eliminated we will make recommendations on how to prevent or minimise exposure to such hazards.
All health and safety work is undertaken by our fully qualified and accredited health and safety auditors. Our auditors are fully conversant with current legislation and accepted industry standards, and are aware of the need to identify real safety issues and not to impose unrealistic or excessive expectations. Wherever possible we will provide pro-active and constructive assistance with the implementation of the audit report recommendations.
